We celebrated our 7th annual General Meeting, “Courage of Our Conviction in Uncertain Times,” with a community of limited partners, friends, and Ulupreneurs. We are so grateful for their support and honored and humbled by their enthusiasm, authenticity, and engagement. And we are excited to announce the addition of our newest team member, Senior Associate Andrea Bogarin!
Andrea Bogarin began her career at high-growth startups and spent over 6 years as a product manager across e-commerce, legal tech, and healthcare in NYC. She completed her MBA at Wharton and BS at Columbia. She is committed to disproving the tech industry’s view that there is a “pipeline problem.” An immigrant herself, Andrea is our champion of bridge building.
The Ulu Ventures 7th annual General Meeting was attended by limited partners, friends, and Ulupreneurs. In addition to presenting our own stats this year, we featured in-person talks and videos (including network television stories) about our founders. We also presented an interactive demonstration of Ulu’s decision-making process. Nancy Torres was featured at the 15th Annual Latinos in Finance (LIF) Bootcamp for the Breaking into Venture Capital session. The LIF Bootcamp brings together students from various colleges, professionals of all levels, and recruiters representing various companies to connect over the shared passion of finance.
Maria Salamanca spoke on a panel hosted by Collective Media during New York Tech Week. She and consumer investors Ashley Mayer and Emma Bates and explored the evolving environment for early stage consumer companies in a conversation that was led and moderated by founders.
Clint Korver spoke to the current class of Included VC, a fellowship program for aspiring venture capitalists from diverse, overlooked communities looking to gain exclusive access, education, and mentorship from experienced VCs. Clint outlined Ulu’s use of decision analytics in venture decision making.
Nancy spoke at Harvard Business School’s Adelante Conference on “The Importance of Fostering Mentorship.” The session was moderated by HBS Professor Jorge Tomayo and addressed navigating mentorship as a minority in professional environments.

Maria Salamanca and Andrea Bogarin attended the SomosVC Summit in NYC. Maria sits on the Board of SomosVC, whose mission is to increase the representation of Latino and Latina professionals in venture capital, help Latino/a venture investors build their careers and networks, and improve access to capital for Latino/a-led venture firms.
