At Ulu Ventures, we evaluate all potential investments using a standard rubric built on the following dimensions:
US-focused, seed stage
Big market opportunity
Strong team
Compelling product
Focused go-to-market
Financial viability​
Clear and aligned values

While we consider a wide range of deal types, several factors lead to an automatic “no”:

  • Headquartered outside the US
  • Cannabis or cannabis-related
  • Anything to do with gambling or games of chance

We follow a five-step process for evaluating potential investments (read the complete description of our process). Our ambition is to get to key decision points quickly and transparently.

Put your email address in your deck. Make it easy for us to get in touch and use a “real” email. Everyone has a Gmail, Hotmail, or university email account; do not submit your pitch using one of these accounts. Making an effort to secure a domain name is an early and easy sign you’re serious about your venture, so please use your company email.
