Ulu in Action

We celebrated Women’s History Month by highlighting three Ulupreneurs driving remarkable innovation in healthcare. We’re also proud that Miriam Rivera and Clint Korver were named to the Blueprint Capital Power 100 for asset managers—for the second year in a row.

Miriam Rivera joined the Latino Business Action Network’s SOLE Summit, as a panelist for a conversation “From Seed to Scale: The New Reality of Venture Funding.” LBAN’s State of Latino Entrepreneurship report shows that Latino-founded startups are securing larger VC checks, with a median of $6 million—above the U.S. median—but access is narrowing, with capital concentrated in fewer, later-stage deals. For the second year in a row, Clint Korver and Miriam Rivera were named to the Blueprint Capital Advisors Power 100 Asset Managers. The designation recognizes leaders across venture capital, advisory platforms, and institutional investment firms.

As part of the Black Corporate Board Readiness program at the Leavey Executive Center at Santa Clara University, Miriam Rivera participated as a panelist on “Serving on VC-Backed Company Boards”. The program is designed to accelerate the representation of qualified Black leaders in corporate governance.

Steve Reale and Trina Weller hosted a workshop in Venture Decision-Making for a group of students from Brown University’s Program in Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship (PRIME) and Brown-RISD’s MA Design Engineering (MADE) program. Students explored Ulu’s decision analysis model through a case study and grappled with risk concepts in an engaging investment simulation.

In honor of Women’s History Month, we spotlighted three Ulupreneurs who are driving remarkable innovation in healthcare. Tina Keshani, CEO of Seven Starling, spoke about her lifelong passion for women’s health and the company’s mission to provide specialized, affordable mental healthcare, with a particular focus on maternal mental health. Amee Devani, CEO of WellBeam, shared how the company’s platform streamlines communication across health systems, helping providers save time and money while creating a more efficient care experience for patients. Rounding out the conversation was Rachel Sha, CEO of Terrestrial, who discussed how the company is rethinking how medicines reach patients—and redefining what “patient-friendly” really means.
