One Ulu portfolio company completes a $717M acquisition and an Ulupreneur is chosen as the Bay Area Entrepreneur of the Year!
Miriam Rivera participated in a fireside chat with Dr. Ernestine Fu Mak Co-Director of FTL (Frontier Technology Lab) and founder of Brave Capital, as part of the Stanford Entrepreneurship through the Lens of VC program (LENS) program. The class focuses on helping students successfully run a startup and admission is selective. Distinguished alums include a Doordash founder Stanley Tang. During the discussion, Miriam learned that a talk she had given when Ernestine was an undergraduate was influential to her career in VC.

Earlier this year, Miriam participated in the Stanford Leading Edge Stewardship Roundtable, a professional development program of the Stanford Directors Network. The series of roundtables focuses on engaging the most experienced members in candid conversation about best practices in the boardroom, including leading-edge stewardship. The roundtable invitation came from Bess Weatherman, Chair of Stanford Women on Boards and current Stanford Trustee, with whom Miriam serves on the Stanford Diverse Manager Initiative.
