Ulu in Action

Miriam Rivera was a panelist at the 35th Annual Women in Business Conference at Harvard Business School. This year’s theme, Rewrite the Rules, framed her panel, “Backing the Future,” which explored where investors see the next bold opportunities emerging and how venture capital is evolving to meet them.

Miriam also spoke at the AI & Education Summit hosted by Stanford University, examining the challenges and opportunities schools face as AI reshapes the learning experience for students and teachers alike. In the summit summary, she emphasized a growing divide between AI consumption and creation: in well-resourced schools, students often learn to build with technology — through coding, robotics, or 3D printing — while in less-resourced environments, students are more often limited to consuming it.

Clint Korver shared Ulu’s portfolio-construction thesis with two audiences. At a gathering of Kauffman Fellows, he debated Ulu’s approach alongside fellows with contrasting investment philosophies. He also presented Ulu’s framework to an audience convened by Recast Capital, a women-owned investment platform focused on backing top emerging fund managers, particularly those building diverse partnerships.

We featured interviews with three Ulupreneurs — Samantha Citro Alexander, CEO of FoodHealth; Isaac Faber of Pretorin; and Felix Gonzalez, CEO of FounderNest — sharing how they experience the Ulu difference in founder support.
