The stars aligned as nine Ulupreneurs made the Forbes “30 Under 30” list! PLUS Ulu Ventures partner Maria Salamanca and another well-known Ulupreneur were named to the Forbes All-Star Alumni category. All are diverse founders and partners.

Latinx VC

Miriam Rivera and Nancy Torres were featured speakers at the sold-out inaugural Latinx VC Annual Summit in Miami along with Ulupreneur Tom Chavez. Miriam’s panel explored market outlook and investing in a post-pandemic world; Nancy’s panel focused on investment strategies and the future of crypto. According to Maria Salamanca, co-founder and president of Latinx VC, the summit was designed to build community. Ulu was the only firm to have two featured speakers at the event.

Maria Salamanca was honored as a Forbes “30 Under 30” All Star Alumni for 2023 in venture capital. She was first named to the list in 2018.

Nancy was a featured speaker at the Robert Toigo Foundation gala and was one of five Toigo alumni recognized for their ascent and action as diverse leaders in financial services. She and Kennie Blanco of L’Attitude Ventures were interviewed by MSNBC anchor Richard Lui.

Launch with GS

Miriam was interviewed by Regina Green as part of Goldman Sachs’ Launch with GS about investor insights. GS interviews venture capitalists to discuss their unique investment strategies and insights around choppy venture markets, particularly enterprise IT and smart data. Miriam is also a member of the Launch with GS advisory board.

Inside the Investor Mind Summit

Nancy spoke with Aurelia Flores at the Inside the Investor Mind Summit, a multi-day session of actionable presentations and interactive events to educate pre-seed and seed-stage founders on different investor approaches. Nancy shared insight into how Ulu sources, selects, and supports investments, as well as her own journey to early-stage investing.

Latinix MBA Association

Ulu Ventures sponsored the second annual Latinx MBA Association Leadership Summit in Austin, Texas, which brought together more than 80 MBA students and alumni from 20+ top MBA programs over the course of the weekend to discuss the barriers and opportunities Latinx business leaders face, and to build connections and community. Nancy is a co-founder and director of Latinx MBA.
