Women’s Venture Capital Summit

Miriam at the Women's Venture Summit

Miriam Rivera was featured at the Women’s Venture Capital Summit, participating on the panel “Finding One’s Voice: What’s Needed to Challenge Industry Norms.” The panelists—all venture firm founders—talked about their journeys, described how challenging it is to try and change the venture ecosystem, and offered advice for women who want to start their own firm or want to have an impact on the VC industry.

Kauffman Fellows Program

Clint Kauffman on the Fellows Panel

Clint Korver gave his annual “The Portfolio Construction Debate: High Conviction vs. Large Portfolios” presentation at the Kauffman Fellows Program module as a panel discussion. Clint and panel members debated the concept of whether a large portfolio is the most successful thesis. Clint also gave a solo presentation on “The VC Value Chain and Competencies” in which he talked about building Ulu and the team’s competencies across the organization.

Acumen America CEO Conference

Miriam at Acumen Conference Fireside Chat

Miriam joined a fireside chat with author, journalist, and poet Clint Smith for the Acumen America CEO conference. They discussed his poetry and themes of love and family in the context of the separation of Black families as a central economic activity of slavery. The conference focused on asking CEO attendees to become more introspective during this time of rapid change.

Stanford Women in Technology Entrepreneurship

Summer Barghouti, Andrea Bogarin, and Miriam at the Stanford Women in Technology Entrepreneurship's first annual Winter Builder Series.

Summer Barghouti, Andrea Bogarin, and Miriam participated in Stanford Women in Technology Entrepreneurship’s first annual Winter Builder Series, a hands-on program designed to guide six teams of student founders from ideation to pitching their company in just eight weeks. Ulu led a marketing and pitching workshop for entrepreneurs in preparation for a live demo day.

Miriam was one of the featured speakers at the El Centro Chicano y Latino event at Stanford, sharing insights about Latina/o’s finances with fellow panelists Mina Pacheco Nazemi and Alex Paramo.
