Ulupreneurs Raise $28M!

As part of the National Association of Investment Companies’ (NAIC) ongoing Insights Series, Miriam Rivera was featured via a LinkedIn livestream in a fireside chat with Carmen Ortiz-McGhee. The conversation delved into Miriam’s pioneering career in Silicon Valley and her legacy, which continues to carve a path for the next generation of Latina/o founders and investors.
Miriam was joined by Ulupreneur and CEO of Zum Ritu Narayan and Temina Madon, Perry Hewitt, and Radhika Shah for a panel at the Future of Work for Women Summit, held at Stanford GSB. The panel, “Scaling Up: Funders and Impact Investors on Driving Women’s Work Initiatives,” explored how funding models can drive meaningful change in women’s employment initiatives. The panelists discussed innovative financing approaches, strategies for aligning social impact with ROI, and ways to foster collaboration between philanthropy, private sector, and government.


Ulu Ventures, in conjunction with SVB, Heilbut LLP, and Reach Capital, hosted a dinner for female founders and operators in the New York healthcare ecosystem at the James Beard House. The group explored persistent gaps in healthcare, emerging areas of research poised to shape the future of diagnostics and care delivery, as well as the challenging fundraising landscape and evolving exit projections
Steve Reale spoke at the University of Rochester’s Simon School of Business to a class on asset management taught by Ulu LP Rich Insalaco. Steve’s talk, titled “Introduction to Venture Capital and Private Equity,” explored how Ulu Ventures uses decision analysis to make investments.


Clint Korver and Miriam hosted a group from Stanford Young Alumni Association and Stanford Angels and Entrepreneurs. The group discussed the many ways the Stanford community can support entrepreneurs in starting and building successful companies.
An Orange County, Florida, school board member, Miriam Salamanca was a panelist at the ASU GSV Summit, “Learning at the Speed of Light.” Her panel, “The Tech-Enabled Campus of the Future,” focused on real-world applications of AI, the challenges of implementation, and the potential for AI to create a more inclusive and connected educational experience for all students, regardless of background or socioeconomic status.
