Project Description

A digitized platform that helps empower K – 8 teachers spend more time strategizing to meet their students needs

LearnZillion’s language arts and mathematics curriculum helps teachers spend less time building student-facing materials from scratch and more time strategizing to meet their student’s needs. Too often, school districts are forced to choose between curricular excellence and a usable digital platform. By partnering with LearnZillion, teachers, students, and the whole district community can benefit from high quality curricula and a greater ease of implementation. LearnZillion’s Learning Management System (LMS) and Student Integration System (SIS) integration and functionality across all major devices helps ensure teachers can get what they need, whenever and wherever, putting most IT and accessibility struggles in the past.

The idea for LearnZillion began at E.L. Haynes Public Charter School in Washington, D.C. where co-founder Eric Westendorf, was principal. After watching 6th grade teacher Andrea Smith teach her students what it meant to divide by fractions, Eric wondered, “Could powerful learning experiences be captured so that teachers didn’t have to reinvent the wheel every time they taught a standard?”

The result is an education software company that seeks to become the best-in-class in delivery of the highest-quality curricula.

An estimated one in three teachers uses LearnZillion.
